How do I verify the clinical quality of the receiving hospital?

All hospitals in the My 1Health network hold JCI, NABH, or TEMOS international accreditation. For any specific referral, you can request the receiving hospital's accreditation status, the treating specialist's credentials and clinical experience, and relevant clinical outcome data. Your My 1Health clinical coordinator will provide this information before you confirm the referral.

What clinical documentation flows back to me during and after treatment?

During treatment, you receive status updates throughout admission and procedure, plus direct communication with the treating hospital. Post-discharge, you receive a full discharge summary, treatment reports, pathology results, and medication protocols for your patient's ongoing care. For complex cases, follow-up consultations between you, the patient, and the treating hospital are coordinated to ensure continuity back into your local care pathway.

Can I have a pre-travel video consultation with the treating specialist?

Yes — for complex cases, pre-travel video consultations with the treating specialist can be arranged. This is particularly valuable for confirming clinical pathway suitability before your patient travels, or for international second opinion referrals where your patient receives a written specialist opinion without any obligation to travel. Your My 1Health clinical coordinator arranges these consultations on your behalf.

How is patient confidentiality and data protection handled across borders?

Patient clinical data shared through the My 1Health platform is encrypted in transit and at rest. Data is shared only with the receiving hospital and treating specialist, with explicit patient consent recorded at point of referral. My 1Health complies with applicable data protection regulations including GDPR for EU patients and UK patients, HIPAA for US patients, and equivalent frameworks in other jurisdictions. Specific data-protection documentation can be provided during your clinical network briefing.

What happens if there are clinical complications during treatment?

All partner hospitals carry professional indemnity insurance. My 1Health provides case escalation support for any clinical complications — working directly with the treating hospital on behalf of the referring physician and patient. The case team handles hospital escalations, family communication, repatriation logistics where required, and insurance disputes. You receive ongoing updates throughout. The treating hospital remains clinically responsible for the patient under their own accreditation and indemnity framework.

Are interpreters available for non-English-speaking patients?

Yes — professional interpreters are available at no cost at most network hospitals for Arabic, French, Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, and most other major global languages. For less common languages, the receiving hospital arranges interpreters at no additional cost to the patient. Language coordination is confirmed at the treatment-plan stage so your patient and family are supported in their preferred language throughout their stay.
